Talvisota's expansion for CtA - GoH offers Finland and the unique
northern struggle between 1939 and 1945, including a wide range of
weaponry and unique gameplay mechanics. The
return of classic skirmishes also expands the eastern front with
massive replayable battles featuring a revamped and menacing AI.
The Finnish nation enters the RTS battlefield in unprecedented detail. It contains an encyclopedic amount of weapons, uniforms, vehicles and locations. Finland possessed specialized weapons and infantry, as well as a unique arsenal of modified and captured vehicles. Specialized engineers can implement and upgrade a wide range of fortifications. Cunning use of searchlights, aviation and exotic units will prove once again that Finland is capable of winning battles. The
Finnish nation is available for the early and middle stages of the war
in multiplayer, as well as in Conquest, our dynamic campaign.
The three separate conflicts (Winter War, Continuation War and Lapland
War) have been researched and depicted with a high level of detail and
quality. The tactics,
fortifications, and equipment used in the northern theater of operations
are once again based on the actual story and locations, each bringing a
new layer of intensity to the game. You
will experience historical events of Finnish military exploits, plus
deadly sniper action, massive railway guns and naval operations.
For Talvisota, traditional skirmishes have returned in a revolutionary format, after repeated requests from the community. Based on historical operations and real locations, skirmishes offer an unparalleled degree of depth in single player and co-op. Select your custom doctrine and fight against a fresh and constantly evolving AI.
Fortify locations and be ready to counter all threats.
The skirmishes range from the paratrooper operations in Vyazma to the bitter fighting in the heart of Berlin. Each skirmish will provide unique features and endless replayability. 12 total skirmishes are provided for Germany, the USSR, and Finland.
Consequently, by adding skirmishes, Talvisota expands on the historical
campaigns of the base game Ostfront, adding to the big picture of the
massive eastern front of World War II.
